TELECOMWORLDWIRE-12 August 2005-Mobile music challengers fall short of Apple iPod, says Strategy Analytics(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Strategy Analytics Inc, a research and consulting company, has released the findings of its mobile application benchmark report. The research revealed that first generation mobile music devices failed on both sound quality and feature usability.

Researchers on Strategy Analytics' advanced buyer panel compared the Apple iPod against four competing mobile music enabled devices, the Samsung E720, O2 XM, SEMC V800 and the SPV500.

According to the company, the O2 XM was rated as top of the four for music feature usability and the Samsung E720 was rated as being the best overall from the four contenders, although according to the company the competition was described as 'weak'.
