TELECOMWORLDWIRE-7 December 2005-NBC shows added to iTunes online store(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Television shows such as 'Law & Order' and 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' from TV network NBC Universal have been made available for sale on the iTunes online store from Apple Computer Inc, a computer company.

The shows include older and current programmes from NBC, the Sci-Fi Channel and the USA Network and are available for USD1.99 each through iTunes, the same cost as for the Walt Disney Co's programmes. Apple and NBC said the programmes will be available several hours after they are run on the West Coast in the US in an attempt to reach past the usual TV audience.

Older programmes such as 'Knight Rider', 'Dragnet' and 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' are available for download, alongside more recent offerings such as 'Surface' and 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien'. NBC confirmed that the deal is not exclusive but did not disclose the length or financial terms of the agreement.

iTunes enables users to download programmes to be viewed on an iPod or on a computer and has sold over 3m videos since the catalogue was launched.
