TELECOMWORLDWIRE-1 March 2005-Vivendi files complaint over ownership of Polish mobile phone operator(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Media and telecomms group Vivendi Universal has announced that it has filed a complaint in a dispute over the ownership of Polish mobile phone company Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC).

The complaint - filed under an investment protection agreement between Poland and France - concerns what Vivendi calls 'a series of acts which constitute a fraudulent abuse of process' by representatives from telecomms companies Elektrim and Deutsche Telekom, that are aimed at depriving it of its interests in PTC.

The move is the latest action in ongoing talks between Vivendi and Deutsche Telekom over the future of PTC. Vivendi and its joint-venture partner, Elektrim, were in talks to sell a 51% stake in PTC to Deutsche Telekom, but talks stalled after Deutsche Telekom said that a court had ruled that it could exercise an old option to buy out Elektrim, reports Dow Jones.
