IT company Microsoft Corp has announced that it has acquired 'virtual office' collaboration software provider Groove Networks Inc in a move that the companies claim will make anytime, anywhere collaboration easier.

UK-based Groove Networks reseller D2i Solutions Ltd said that the development will create an integrated set of tools that will enable workers to collaborate easily and efficiently.

A spokesperson for Microsoft said that the addition of Groove products to its Microsoft Office System will enhance its power, and that Groove's Virtual Office will complement Microsoft's existing collaboration suite. No financial details of the acquisition were released.
