Swedish IT group WM-data said on Monday (23 May) that it had agreed to acquire the global management consulting and IT services group Atos Origin's operations in Sweden and Norway in a SEK1.33bn deal.
The operations to be acquired cover a broad range of IT related services within consulting and systems integration, managed operations and solutions for telecomms and utilities. The businesses have more than 1,300 employees and a combined turnover of approximately SEK1.6bn.

WM-data said that the acquired operations would be fully integrated into its existing operations, resulting in synergy gains of approximately SEK100m per year. The integration and restructuring is expected to cost SEK100m.
After the transaction WM-data will have a total of 9,000 employees and a turnover of SEK9.8bn.
