TELECOMWORLDWIRE-12 October 2005-DataSynapse enters collaboration with Telefonica(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

DataSynapse Inc, a provider of adaptive grid infrastructure solutions, has entered into a Collaboration Agreement with Telefonica Soluciones, the solutions provider subsidiary of Telefonica, a Spanish telecomms group, to offer grid computing benefits to Telefonica's global customer base.

According to the company, DataSynapse's GridServer will enable Telefonica Soluciones' customers to move to a Services on Demand grid environment where system resources are pooled, virtualised and allocated as needed to satisfy the demand for computing power. GridServer is understood to dynamically provision services in varying quantities against variable infrastructure resources, in this way preventing over-provisioning of compute resources in different areas of the organisation and that of its clients.

Telefonica expects to quickly realise the benefits of a service-oriented architecture (SOA), delivering optimised application performance and resource utilisation, which will guarantee higher service levels and application resiliency.

No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.
