Golden Gate Capital, a private equity fund, has announced its acquisition of Symon Communications Inc, a provider of software and hardware for real-time data display and enterprise communications.

Symon Communications, founded in 1980, provides real-time data reporting, visualisation and enterprise communications solutions for the contact centre, help desk, employee communications, supply chain and digital signage markets. The company's customer base reportedly comprises over 7,000 customer sites.

Following the transaction the company will continue to be led by president and CEO Charles Ansley and the existing management.

No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed.
