TELECOMWORLDWIRE-29 September 2006-Globe Telecom introduces GLive mobile media service in Philippines(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
The GLive mobile media service has been introduced by Globe Telecom, a mobile operator in Asia Pacific and member of the SingTel group and the Bridge Mobile Alliance, following service trials with 16,000 users.
Globe Telecom said the service, which is powered by Celltick's LiveScreen Media, brings interactive and engaging 'content teasers' to the idle screens of mobile users. It allows mobile content to be marketed, while promoting the operator's brand, to Globe Telecom's 15m subscribers in the Philippines.

Globe Telecom sought a way to promote its extensive content library without having to rely on user initiative and claimed GLive provides subscribers with easy access to a rich mobile media experience.
The GLive service broadcasts content teasers to the idle screen of mobile phone users, with messages appearing silently to deliver sport updates, news headlines, weather and traffic reports, games and other forms of content. News and public information services will be provided between 0700 and 2100 hours local time and users can opt to access related content and services when they see content of interest.
Sponsored content will be provided by media partners such as ABS-CBN and GMA 7 and subscribers wanting to access more information will be charged, depending on the service.
