TELECOMWORLDWIRE-19 January 2007-Vivisimo web search platform incorporated into US government's official public website(C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Vivisimo, a provider of enterprise search software, reported on 18 January the introduction of http://www.USA.gov, the American government's official public web portal, which uses Vivisimo's Velocity web search platform.

The relaunched site was formerly known as FirstGov.gov.

The search platform, also used for the US government's websites Kids.gov, GobiernoUSA.gov and Consumer.gov, allows users to access government documents and web pages and search through government resources.

Its combination with MSN's search index provides a search feature which enables the user to find the most relevant information via government sources including frequently asked question documents, government forms, government job postings, audio podcasts and consumer product reports, Vivisimo claims.

No financial details of the affiliation were disclosed.
