TELECOMWORLDWIRE-31 May 2007-Verizon Business announces expansion of audio-conferencing access(C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Verizon Business, a provider of audio, web and video-conferencing services and a unit of Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ), announced on Wednesday (30 May) that the company has expanded its audio-conferencing services, and that the services are now available in more locations globally.

Verizon Business said that the company has added country access points in Latin America and Eastern Europe, complementing city access points recently rolled out in France and the UK.

The countries added in this access point expansion are Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Slovakia, Uruguay and Venezuela. Local city access numbers have been established in Marseilles, Lyon and Paris in France, and Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester and London in the UK.

As a result of this expansion, multinational corporations using Verizon Business' global conferencing facilities in more global business centres are reportedly able to realise cost efficiencies by accessing audio meetings through local dial-in numbers.

The company also announced direct IP Access to its Instant Meeting audio conferencing services for Verizon Private IP customers, who already benefit from access to Verizon Video Conferencing. This can reportedly offer multinational companies with widely geographically dispersed workforces a significant cost benefit.
