TELECOMWORLDWIRE-23 November 2007-Telefonica O2 Czech Republic exceeds 110,000 CDMA customers(C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, a provider of telecomms services, has revealed that it has exceeded 110,000 CDMA customers, an increase from 100,000 clients in mid-2006.

The company launched its 3G network in the Czech Republic in August 2004 for business and residential customers, providing high-speed mobile Internet.

Telefonica O2 Czech Republic claimed the upward trend in its customer base growth is expected to continue in the future, with the company's consistent innovation of the network and related hardware making a significant contribution to its success.

Having launched AnyData ADU 630WH and O2 Internet Mobil Plus, enabling its clients to access Internet at the maximum speed regardless of network technology, in November Telefonica O2 Czech Republic introduced Revize A, an enhanced version of the current CDMA network Release 0.

The company confirmed this provides a higher capacity for sending data upstream from the customer, increasing the speed from 156kb/s to 1.8Mb/s; with the downloading of data enabled at speeds of up to 3.1Mb/s. The new version of the CDMA will have covered 30% of the country's population by the end of 2007, upgrading over 30% of the current CDMA network, according to Unstrung.
