Huawei Technologies Co Ltd (Huawei), a provider of next generation telecomms network solutions, has been selected by Telecom Italia, a communications company, to provide access network components to help it deploy a Next Generation Network (NGN2) in the Milan area of Italy.

Huawei said it will provide its Fibre to the Building (FTTB) solution, which includes SmartAX MA5600T and MA5606T, incorporating GPON and VDSL2 technologies, for Telecom Italia. It claimed the technologies enable broadband connection speeds of up to 100Mb/s, ensuring an improved ultra broadband experiences for Telecom Italia's customers.

According to Huawei, its solution is built on Terabit architecture, providing a future-proof platform, allowing Telecom Italia to introduce further ultra broadband services.
