ILS enters into contract for launch of Satellite with Inmarsat

International Launch Services (ILS), a provider of services and support to satellite customers, has reported that it has entered into a contract with Inmarsat PLC (LSE:ISAT), a provider of global mobile satellite communications, for the launch of an S-band satellite.

The satellite, known as EuropaSat, will be providing mobile broadcast and two-way telecomms services across Europe. It is being developed by Thales Alenia Space of France using its Spacebus 4000C3 platform.

The satellite is scheduled to be launched in early 2011.

Financial details of the contract were not available.
