Option NV (Euronext Brussels:OPTI) (OTC:OPNVY), a wireless technology company, has announced that it has begun shipping its new high performance wireless broadband ExpressCard to Vodafone.

The new ExpressCard was developed by Option NV specifically for the Vodafone Group and its Partner Networks. It has been designed to reach peak HSDPA download speeds of 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA uploads reaching 5.76 Mbps, dependent upon network availability.

The product can also support HSDPA and HSUPA in the 900 MHz band in order to satisfy needs of mobile operators which use this band to improve mobile broadband coverage in buildings and rural areas.

Initial shipments of the new ExpressCard have now been delivered to Vodafone's Finnish partner network, Elisa. Commercial roll-outs of the device have also been planned by other operators in the Vodafone Group of Companies.

Financial details for the new ExpressCard were not announced.
