uLocate Communications has announced that WHERE, its location-based application platform, has been selected by Sprint to power its portal that will deliver local information and mapping services to XOHM subscribers.
WHERE will be acting as a development platform for content owners wishing to harness, for their applications, location information that is inherent in 4G WiMAX technology.

XOHM will also be provided with a fully converged mobile internet experience by WHERE and will also feature location based content from brands such as Yelp, a service which offers user generated reviews on restaurants and businesses; Topix, a new aggregator service which can provide headlines relevant to the user's current location and Eventful, a service that enables users to find out what events are happening locally.
