Inmarsat plc (LSE:ISAT), a provider of global mobile satellite communications, announced on 15 December that Perry Melton will assume responsibility of chief operating officer (COO) with effect from 1 January 2009.
The company said that Melton takes over from Michael Butler, who will remain as president and an executive director of the company until 30 April 2009 when he will leave the business, as previously announced in March 2008.
Inmarsat said that Bulter will play a key role in facilitating a seamless transition during the first part of 2009.
