Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a data integration software and services provider, reported yesterday (16 December) that the company's Informatica PowerCenter has been chosen by BNP Paribas Assurance, a life insurer in France, to manage its data exchange processing.A With a customer base of almost 2.5m contracts, BNP Paribas Assurance creates and markets products and services under two different proprietary names: BNP Paribas, for products distributed by the network of BNP Paribas agencies in France; and Cardif, for the other networks in France and abroad. This makes the management of exchanges with its partners difficult due to the different modes of communication, generating numerous transactions daily.A BNP Paribas Assurance project requirements are rapid deployment and integration capacity. It will begin with the contract management system and the selection of an appropriate software package that will implement quickly, have low training costs and a heterogeneous environment. As of March 2009 the solution will cover all data exchanges in France. The new data integration platform will help the company upgrade its information system while expanding the insurance business in France. Informatica was chosen by BNP Paribas Assurance as it is an independent solution that can integrate the group's overall data.A Financial terms were not disclosed.
