Internet company Yahoo! Inc (Nasdaq:YHOO) announced on Tuesday (12 February) that the company has acquired Maven Networks Inc, an online video platform provider, for approximately USD160m.
The acquisition will reportedly expand the consumer video and advertising experiences on Yahoo!.com and Yahoo!'s network of video publishers across the web.
Yahoo! said that it intends to invest in the growth of Maven's overall video business, continuing to provide premium publishers with both publishing and new advertising solutions.

The company also intends to expand on the Maven offering with video monetisation services allowing publishers to take advantage of Yahoo!'s display sales force and technologies for delivering consumers more relevant advertising experiences.
With the completion of the acquisition, Maven has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yahoo!
