Telecomworldwire,  Jan 29, 2008

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-29 January 2008-ConSentry LANShield Switch implemented by Adaptec(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

ConSentry Networks, a provider of secure LAN solutions, announced on Monday (28 January) that Adaptec, Inc (NASDAQ: ADPT), a provider of storage solutions, is deploying the ConSentry LANShield Switch as part of a network upgrade.

According to the company, Adaptec is using LANShield's Intelligent Switching capability to provide user and application control across its operations, including its headquarters in Milpitas, California, USA, its technology centre in Orlando, Florida, USA, and nine other locations worldwide.

The company reportedly required differentiated access control for engineering teams and company visitors, separation of the company's lab and production networks, support for new wireless and voice over IP (VoIP) implementations, better user activity reporting, as well as the ability to accommodate new technologies.

No financial details were disclosed.
