1&1 Internet Ltd, a UK-based web hosting and domain name registration company, launched on Tuesday (1 July) a new offer that provides UK customers with 1 year of free hosting on its Home or Business Pro shared web hosting packages.
According to the company, customers signing up to Home or Business Pro packages will need to pay a set-up fee of GBP9.99 and receive their first 12 months free, representing a saving of up to GBP180. The offer is valid from 1 July until 31 August, 2008.

The 1&1 Home package is priced from GBP4.99 (ex. VAT) per month thereafter and is available in Linux or MS formats. It features 1.5GB webspace, 20GB monthly traffic, one inclusive .uk domain name, 400 2GB e-mail accounts, as well as 1&1's WebsiteBuilder, Dynamic Content, Chat, Blog, Newsletter, SimpleSubmission and EasyShop tools plus GBP400 of free software.
The Business Pro package is priced from GBP14.99 (ex. VAT) per month thereafter and is also available in either Linux or MS formats. The package provides 8GB of webspace, 100GB of monthly traffic, five inclusive .uk domains, 1500 2GB mailboxes. In addition to the company's web building tools, users benefit from advanced web development functionality, including SSH Access, PHP & Perl, shared SSL certificate and 8 MySQL accounts, the company claims.
