TELECOMWORLDWIRE-2 July 2008-Kyocera to use Zi Corporation predictive text input in branded mobile telephones(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Zi Corporation (Zi) (TSX: ZIC) (NASDAQ: ZICA), a developer of mobile text search, text input and advertising solutions has announced on 2 July that Kyocera Corporation(NYSE: KYO), a Japanese handset manufacturer has chosen Zi's eZiText and eZiType predictive text entry technologies for use in some of its handsets.

Kyocera has an existing relationship with Zi and the new deal sees not only the continuation of this relationship but also sees Kyocera gaining a licence to use Zi's proprietary technology on Kyocera's Sanyo-branded handsets worldwide.

Zi will supply Kyocera with eZiText and eZiType in English and Spanish. Several other languages will be implemented in the near future depending on consumer demand. Kyocera states that it will integrate Zi's text entry into new Sanyo brand foreign model phones with QWERTY keypads.

Kyocera Corporation is the parent and global headquarters of the Kyocera Group, founded in 1959 as a producer of advanced ceramics.
