Xandros, a provider of custom OEM Linux solutions, Linux desktop and server products and cross-platform Windows-Linux management tools, announced on 2 July the acquisition of Linspire, the developer of the CNR software distribution facility and the Linspire and Freespire desktop operating systems.
The acquisition positions Xandros as a one-stop Linux solutions company and enhances its ability to deliver one click software deliver and updates to Linux and mobile users. The synergy will also give Xandros the impetus to develop third party applications and deliver applications and content from digital warehouses.
