TELECOMWORLDWIRE-3 July 2008-TeliaSonera to provide infrastructure for city-building game(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

TeliaSonera International Carrier (TeliaSonera) (Nasdaq:TLSN) (OMX Stockholm:TLSN) (OMX Helsinki:TLS1V), a European network infrastructure company and a provider of wholesale network capacity, announced on 3 July that the French games publisher Monte Cristo will be utilising TeliaSonera's global IP network and specialised collocation services to support the infrastructure for its new game, CITIES XL.

CITIES XL, which merges video gaming with social networking and virtual worlds, is currently in closed beta stage development. TeliaSonera are currently working with Monte Cristo to ensure sufficient capacity to cope with the expected number of players for the game. Monte Cristo are projecting a significant increase in the number of online players in the near future.

The game is expected to be ready in time for its release in 2009.

No financial details of the deal were released.
