DISH Network Corporation (DISH) (Nasdaq:DISH) has announced that it will offer HD programming at 1080p resolution.
The HD service is part of an expansion of HD services by DISH which include the launch of its TurboHD package, a 100% HD suite of HD channels. Also announced recently was the addition of 17 new national HD channels as of tomorrow, bringing the total number of HD channels on offer by DISH to 114.

DISH has plans to increase the number of HD channels available to 150 by the close of 2008. The company said that the increase in the number of channels has been made possible by the launch of its latest satellite, Echo X1. It will be promoting is new services with a variety of special offers.
