DISH Network Corporation (Nasdaq: DISH), a US pay-TV provider, has added four new high definition (HD) local markets to its coverage areas in the US.
According to DISH, provision of HD to the four new local areas, two in NY state, one in Tennessee and one in Michigan, means that the network now covers more than 69% of US TV households. The additional areas are part of an expansion announced by DISH in January, with a target by the end of the year of 100 local HD markets and 100 national TV channels.

DISH Network also retails dishHD DVR receivers, new subscribers to the pay-TV network can receive a DVR receiver similar to the dishDVR ViP722 for free when they sign up to a minimum 24 months subscription. The ViP722 is a dual-tuner HD DVR that can operate two TVs in separate rooms and store up to 500 hours programming.
