TELECOMWORLDWIRE-8 July 2008-ICx deploys border surveillance tower for Border Patrol(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

ICx Technologies (Nasdaq: ICTX) has received a USD4m order for its Cerebus unmanned surveillance systems for deployment along the US southern Border with Mexico.

The Cerebus system is an integrated mobile surveillance tower combining high definition radars with thermal imaging systems on a common software platform, enabling the users to track and identify potential intruders.

ICx, a developer of security products for the military, internal security and commercial applications, has been working with the US Army, RDECOM, CERDEC Night Vision, Electronic Sensors Directorate and Customs and Border Patrol to develop Cerebus. The contract means that Cerebus is the first unmanned surveillance platform to be deployed along the US southern border's 'virtual fence', according to ICx.
