Eastman Kodak Company (Kodak) (NYSE: EK) have announced the development of a 50 megapixel CCD sensor for use in digital photographic applications.
Kodak claim the sensor is the world's first CCD sensor with such a high resolution. The KAF-50100 Image Sensor is a product of Kodak's TRUESENSE 6.0 micron Full Frame CCD Technology Platform, with a newly designed pixel which reduces sensing time and power consumption when compared to previous 6.2 micron sensor technology.
