TELECOMWORLDWIRE-16 June 2008-Bridgewater and Mformation integrate WiMAX subscriber access solution(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Bridgewater Systems (TSX:BWC), a developer of service control solutions, and Mformation Technologies Inc announced on 16 June that they have integrated the MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER and Bridgewater's service control and subscriber data management solution.

The two companies state that integrated system will allow WiMAX operators to automatically detect, provision and manage WiMAX devices over the air using industry standard IP and OMA DM protocols, reducing service introduction costs and allowing immediate subscriber access to WiMAX services, with flexible supply channels for the new WiMAX devices. The companies state that the new integrated system is currently being implemented by an unnamed tier-1 service provider in North America.

Mformation's SERVICE MANAGER detects new devices registering with the network and uses the Bridewater system to obtain the device's IP identity and also to obtain key subscriber information which Mformation's OMA DM-based device management server uses to trigger over-the-air activation, provisioning and management of the service on the device. Subsequent provisioning of updates to the device is also possible. The integrated system reduces the complexity of provisioning services for new WiMAX devices and makes it possible for services to be made available to a subscriber without the subscriber needing to take any action or visit a shop to have those features enabled.
