TELECOMWORLDWIRE-16 June 2008-IT Governance launches DPA Compliance Toolkit(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
On June 16, IT Governance, consultants in governance, risk management and compliance, announced the launch of its DPA Compliance Toolkit.
IT Governance recently compiled a report - Data Breaches: Trends, Costs and Best Practices - in which the need for effective DPA compliance was hilighted. The new UK Criminal Justice and Immigration Act, soon to come into force, gives the Information Commissioner power to impose substantial fines on organisations that 'deliberately' or 'recklessly' commit serious breaches of the Data Protection Act (DPA).
According to the company, to enable organisations to comply with the requirements of the Act, the DPA Compliance Toolkit contains all the essential templates and tools for data controllers and those responsible for DPA compliance programmes. It includes prepared policy documents, guidelines and procedures for undertakings such as data classification, disclosing data to a third party and secure disposal of removable storage media as well as employee materials with an induction presentation and an acceptable use agreement, plus a compliance audit checklist. The toolkit will therefore ensure secure management of personal digital information and meet the standards laid down in the Act.
The DPA Compliance Toolkit is priced at GBP79.95 and may be ordered from http://www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/1788.
