Intermec releases SR30 handheld scanner

Telecomworldwire,  June 16, 2008

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-16 June 2008-Intermec releases SR30 handheld scanner(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Intermec (NYSE:IN) announced on 16 June the release of a new product, the auto-adapting SR30 handheld bar code scanner for retail point-of-service (POS) applications.

The scanner is designed to automatically detect and adapt to whatever interface a user plugs it into and has been integrated with Intermec's patented Vista linear imaging technology which the company say delivers 'fast, always-accurate scanning, even when the bar codes are damaged or poorly printed'.

The company say that the ability of the scanner to adapt and self-configure means that it can be used across multiple applications, enabling a customer to standardise on a single scanner product, reducing training, support and installations costs. The scanner works with common POS peripherals and software, comes with Intermec's EasySet software for setup and has a scan rate of 500 scans per second.
