TELECOMWORLDWIRE-17 June 2008-Alcatel-Lucent announces new 'Breaking the Barriers' publication(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Communications solutions provider Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris: ALU) (NYSE: ALU) announced on Monday (16 June) the public availability of its reference work on the transformation of fixed broadband access - 'Breaking the Barriers: Transformation to the Digital Life'.

According to the company, 'Breaking the Barriers' contains over 40 articles from industry analysts, executive operator representatives, government officials and technology experts who talk about how they view today's and tomorrow's broadband access market, including the threats and opportunities ahead. Building on real-world case studies and quantifiable data, the book offers a comprehensive view of how broadband is to evolve.

In the 18 months since the company published the first volume of 'Breaking the Barriers', the broadband market has greatly changed and therefore an updated and re-evaluated vision on operators' broadband access strategies had become necessary, Alcatel-Lucent said.

The first copies of the expanded perspective on the evolution of broadband will exclusively be distributed at no cost at the Alcatel-Lucent booth at NXTcomm trade show in Las Vegas, USA, on 16-19 June, 2008. More information on the 'Breaking the Barriers' is available at: http://www.alcatel-lucent.com/breakingthebarriers.> ((Comments on this story may be sent to tww.feedback@m2.com))
