TELECOMWORLDWIRE-17 June 2008-Milestone XProtect(TM) Corporate 2.0 is available(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Milestone Systems, a developer of video surveillance software, today (17 June) announced the release of XProtect Corporate version 2.0.

The software, integrated with Microsoft's Active Directory and backed by a Microsoft SQL database to control user access, is supplied with the Xprotect Smart Client graphical user interface, giving security staff access to live and recorded video data. Built around the concept of distributed servers, and designed for large-scale application, the system can be installed on multiple physically distributed sites with central control of an unlimited number of cameras, servers and users.

Video feeds are supplied to operators via multi-casting and multi-streaming, reducing the network demands. Short-term recordings can be stored on fast local hard discs, with long-term storage to network storage. Failover protocols are built into the system to provide redundancy and reliability.

The pricing structure for the system is dependant only on the number of cameras installed, with no extra cost for servers, storage, clients or users.
