StreamShield, a real-time Internet content security company and part of business and technology consultancy Detica Group plc (DCA.L), announced on Thursday (19 June) that communications company O2 (UK) Limited (O2), a subsidiary of Telefonica, has selected the StreamShield Content Security Gateway solution to provide its customers with a safer Internet service for its UK Broadband service.

According to the company, the StreamShield Content Security Gateway (CSG) is a carrier-grade content processing solution designed for high-speed Internet service provider and mobile operator networks. It enables Internet service providers to pipe filtered Internet content into homes and businesses without the need for customers to install any specialised software or hardware on their computers.

No financial details were disclosed.
