Telecomworldwire,  June 23, 2008

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-23 June 2008-NBC to use Wavexpress to provide Olympic coverage via internet video(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

NBC Universal Inc, a US broadcaster, and Wavexpress, a provider of broadband media services majority owned by Wave Systems Corp (Nasdaq: WAVX), announced on 23 June that Wavexpress will provide a service to allow computer users to view NBC's coverage of the Beijing Olympics.

Wavexpress will develop, host and support the service, which will allow subscribers to download content overnight onto their computer for viewing offline at their leisure. Viewers of the free service will sign up for sport-specific channels which will be downloaded for later viewing. With a 14 hour time difference between Beijing and US Central Time, most of the events at the Olympics will be held while US citizens are fast asleep.

Some details of the agreement between Wavexpress and NBC have yet to be finalised. NBC have the exclusive US broadcast rights to Olympic sporting events up to and including the 2012 London Olympics.
