Jasper Wireless service chosen by Konica Minolta

Telecomworldwire,  June 24, 2008

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-24 June 2008-Jasper Wireless service chosen by Konica Minolta(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Jasper Wireless, a global machine-to-machine (M2M) mobile operator, announced on Monday (23 June) that Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH, a provider of image information products, is using the Jasper Wireless service to provide wireless connectivity for CS Remote Care, the company's remote diagnostic system.

The partnership is expected to enable Konica Minolta to offer its customers a provision-free remote monitoring service designed to provide fast problem recognition and support. The commercial roll-out of the wireless CS Remote Care service follows an initial successful pilot project with Jasper Wireless.

Through the partnership, Konica Minolta's multifunctional products (MFP) are being equipped with the Jasper Wireless Global SIM, which automatically transmits system performance data from the customer's premises to Konica Minolta's service department. The Jasper Wireless Global SIM features automatic-provisioning, so that there is no complicated activation process for the end-user, the company claims.

According to the company, Konica Minolta's remote diagnostic system features many services, including a notification system, which often reports problems before they have even been recognised by the user. Other features include supply management for consumables and remote metre reading.

No financial details were disclosed.
