Infinera (NasdaqGM:INFN), a provider of Digital Optical Networking systems to telecomms carriers, announced on Tuesday (24 June) that Cox Northern Virginia has deployed an Infinera Digital Optical Network for its metropolitan network.

Infinera's Digital Optical Network, which is based on large-scale photonic integrated circuits (PICs), is expected to enable Cox to deliver services with industry-leading speed, simplicity, and flexibility.

Financial details of the deployment were not available.
