Verizon activates New Hampshire cell site

Verizon Wireless, a US mobile network operator formed as a joint venture between Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD), announced on 25 June that it has activate a new cell site in Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

The cell site will increase wireless voice and data coverage and capacity along routes 101, 107, 27 and 156 in Raymond and in the surrounding area.

The site brings the total invested by Verizon in New Hampshire to nearly USD2.2bn with around USD292m invested in 2007. All New Hampshire cell sites operated by Verizon offer wireless broadband connectivity with download speeds of up to 1.4Mb/s over Verizon's EV-D Revision A network.
