Kaspersky Lab, a provider of Internet security software solutions, announced on Wednesday (25 June) the launch of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009.
According to the company, the next generation of Kaspersky Lab's technology features hourly updates, high detection rates and free telephone technical support, and introduces a new antivirus engine for improved protection, performance and reliability, as well as a new user interface.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 reportedly provides protection from identity theft, spyware, hijacking, botnets, hacker attacks, viruses, worms, Trojans, keyloggers, rootkits, phishing, unwanted pop-up ads and spam.
The solution includes the following new and improved layers of security: improved threat prevention system; application whitelisting; security rating technology; system security analysis tool; virtual keyboard; parental control; a personal two-way firewall; high performance with reduced impact on processor, memory and bandwidth; as well as an easy-to-create rescue disk.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 will be available from 1 July, 2008. Customers may upgrade free of charge from version 7.0 to version 2009, for the remainder of their existing one year license period. Pricing for Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 UK Edition starts at GBP39.99, and for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 UK Edition at GBP29.99; or GBP27.99 and GBP20.99 respectively with renewal option.
