CSR (LSE:CSR), a UK based manufacturer of silicon for the wireless market, announced on 30 June the availability of an enhanced version of its BlueCore4-ROM.

The Bluetooth chip, upgraded to the Bluetooth v2.1 standard, is qualified to the AEC-Q100 automotive stress test standard. The latest Bluetooth standard includes power optimisations, improved security and simple pairing, which allows users to pair devices quickly without requiring pin codes. Discoverable devices can be set to pair automatically.

The device is intended for in-car entertainment and telecomms uses.
