Fidelity National Information Services, Inc (NYSE: FIS), a provider of processing and technology solutions for financial institutions, announced on Friday (27 June) that Turkiye Is Bankasi (ISBANK), a bank in Turkey, has selected Corebank, FIS' core banking system for financial institutions outside of the US, to support its entire retail banking operation.

Corebank is expected to enable ISBANK to provide better customer service by streamlining and simplifying the processes that are part of the account life-cycle. The bank has chosen to migrate to a Java-compliant environment and will implement Corebank J2EE (Java2 Platform Enterprise Edition), which will replace its existing legacy applications.

According to the company, ISBANK needed to improve operations, reduce costs, improve customer service and generate new revenues. In addition, it wanted to move from its current hierarchical database onto a relational database. Corebank is a comprehensive core banking solution, which provides a multichannel, multibranch, multicurrency, multilingual retail banking environment.
