Elan Software Systems, a provider of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software solutions, has announced that its XFP eBR solution has been selected by BestSweet, a US based manufacturer of cough drops, to transform its manufacturing operations into a full paperless site with a faster release cycle.
The company said that the current deployment targets the cough lozenge production line, which encompasses all aspects of manufacturing including mixing, cooking, wrapping and packaging.

By deploying XFP eBR, BestSweet aims to replace its current paper system with electronic batch reviews (eBRs), which will record and trace all steps of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials to packaging of finished goods.
Financial details of the deployment were not disclosed.
