A report published by the US security technology company McAfee Inc (NYSE: MFE) ranks the Finnish Internet domain .fi the world's safest domain.

Analysing 9.9m web sites in 256 countries, McAfee found that the Finnish domain was the safest surfing destination, with only 0.05% of all web pages in the domain posing a security threat.

The second safest domain in McAfee's study was Japan's .jp, while Norway's .no was the third safest.

The most unsafe destinations were Hong Kong (.hk), China (.cn) and the Philippines (.ph).
