Sprint announces availability of RIM's BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone

The new BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone from wireless solutions provider Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq:RIMM) has been made available by Sprint Nextel Corp (NYSE:S) (Sprint), a US network operator.

The BlackBerry Curve 8330 offers a two megapixel camera with video recording, advanced media player for music, photos and video, Bluetooth, microSD/SDHC card slot for expandable memory, full QWERTY keyboard, voice activated dialling, voice notes recorder and the ability to be used as a modem with a laptop.

The device gives users access to phone, personal and corporate e-mail, contacts, tasks, calendar, multimedia content, GPS navigation, enhanced Web browsing and other capabilities.

According to Sprint, customers can also use services such as the Sprint Music Store to download stereo-quality tracks instantly over the air; Sprint TV to watch live TV or video-on-demand with full-motion video or access news, sports, weather, entertainment and movie trailers and select from over 50 live TV channels.

Users can also access Sprint Navigation, with which delivers voice-guided and on-screen turn-by-turn GPS-enabled driving directions, 3D moving maps and over 10m local listings and real-time intelligent traffic alerts with one-click rerouting, according to Unstrung.
