The new Slash wireless slider handset from consumer electronics company Samsung Mobile (Samsung) has been introduced by Virgin Mobile USA (NYSE:VM), a mobile services provider in the US, representing the first collaboration between the two companies.
The Slash phone offers a VGA camera, Bluetooth wireless technology and full messaging capabilities including text messaging, e-mail and instant messaging (IM), an integrated speakerphone, voice-activated dialling, a colour display and storage. It can hold up to 499 contact entries with up to five numbers, one website and two e-mail addresses each and is preloaded with Autotext for quick, easy text messaging.
In addition, the Slash handset features preloaded game demos such as Gameloft, Jukebox and Superscape; a VirginXL portal with access to Virgin Mobile USA content such as ringtones and ringback tones; and Headliner, the provider's mobile music magazine with on-demand access to music-related content. It also offers an enhanced Spanish-language user interface and menu.
The Samsung Slash handset offers up to 3.5 hours of talk-time and a week on standby and is available from Virgin Mobile USA priced at USD79.99.
