The E6474A wireless network test platform from Agilent Technologies Inc (NYSE:A) (Agilent), a measurement and technology company, has been selected by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a non-profit R&D organisation in Taiwan, founded in 1973 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan, for its M-Taiwan WiMAX Applications Lab (MTWAL), a WiMAX Forum Applications Lab.

Agilent said ITRI will use its WiMAX test systems to enable the six operators which won WiMAX operating licences in Taiwan last year, to introduce their networks and commercial services in the second half of 2008.
ITRI claimed the E6474A wireless network test platform will ensure the quality of service information is monitored in its WiMAX system deployment and operations. It confirmed WiMAX technology and services will hold an important role in ensuring access to broadband services for customers.
According to Agilent, ITRI is a research pioneer in Taiwan's communications industry. Agilent will help it to promote research on Mobile WiMAX network development in Taiwan.
