TELECOMWORLDWIRE-20 May 2008-Cincinnati Bell introduces pix2pc service powered by Ontela(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

A new service called pix2pc has been introduced by Cincinnati Bell Wireless, a wireless carrier serving Greater Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, USA, and a division of Cincinnati Bell Inc (NYSE:CBB), intended to enable customers to save camera phone pictures to PCs and favourite web destinations quickly and easily.

The new service is powered by Ontela, a provider of technology infrastructure to wireless carriers to enable consumers to unlock the photos in their camera phones, and saves each picture taken automatically to the user's favourite destinations, without the need for wires or connections.

Cincinnati Bell claimed it will be the first GSM wireless carrier to offer pix2pc, which will be launched immediately and available for USD2.99 per month for unlimited picture transfer, on Nokia devices.

According to Cincinnati Bell, it partnered with Ontela after noting an increasing challenge for camera phone users, with 41% recently surveyed reportedly stating that they would consider changing wireless carriers in order to access an automatic image saving service on their handset.

The company said as the quality of camera phones improves, users require a simpler, easier method to save, print and share photos, with pix2pc sending images taken, by e-mail address, to the user's computer for storage.
