TELECOMWORLDWIRE-7 May 2008-Granada provides high definition programming to Chunghwa Telecom(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Content provider Granada International, part of UK commercial broadcaster ITV plc, has sold over 300 hours of high definition programming to Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), a telecomms operator in Taiwan.

The programming will be available through CHT's Multimedia On-Demand (MOD) service, provided through IPTV and currently available to almost 450,000 subscribers.

According to the company, titles included in the deal include dramas My Boy Jack, Murdoch Mysteries, Durham County and Ballet Shoes; factual series Planet Science and Brainiac; a number of Hollywood TV movies and three series of Agatha Christie's Poirot; as well as features films such as The Fabulous Baker Boys and Bugsy Malone.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
