TELECOMWORLDWIRE-7 May 2008-Verizon activates new cell site in Tippecanoe County(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

A new cell site has been activated in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA, by Verizon Wireless (Verizon), a US wireless voice and data network operator and joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD).

Verizon said the new cell site improves its voice and data network coverage in Romney, along US Route 231 and along State Road 28 in southern Tippecanoe County.

According to Verizon, the expanded network coverage allows more customers to use their wireless handsets simultaneously to make and receive calls, send and receive e-mail, text, picture and video messages, download music, games and ringtones, browse the Internet and view videos. It also claimed users will benefit from fewer dropped calls and clearer reception.
