TELECOMWORLDWIRE-7 May 2008-Tata Communications deploys Arbor Networks' Peakflow SP and TMS(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Network security provider Arbor Networks, Inc announced on Tuesday (6 May) that Tata Communications Ltd (NYSE: TCL), a communications solutions provider and a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has deployed its Peakflow SP platform and Threat Management System (TMS) as part of its Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Detection and Mitigation security service offering for its Internet service provider (ISP), wholesale and enterprise customers.

According to the company, Tata Communications' DDoS Detection & Mitigation security services provide an integrated solution for real time application-layer analysis of the IP traffic traversing across the company's global IP backbone. The services monitor and analyze customer traffic on a 24/7 basis. Undesirable traffic is filtered in Tata Communications' backbone before customer resources are impacted, leading to optimum utilization of bandwidth. In addition to protection against security threats, the company uses Arbor Peakflow SP for addressing network issues such as traffic and routing instability.

Peakflow SP reportedly provides network-wide anomaly detection and reporting of routing and traffic patterns across an entire network. It enables users to determine the root cause of changes in traffic, which may be the result of new applications, or violations in usage policies, and offers the ability to evaluate peering relationships with partners to optimize transit performance.

No financial details were disclosed.
