Comptel Corporation (OMX Helsinki:CTL1V), a vendor of dynamic Operations Support System (OSS) software, announced on Thursday (13 November) that Sybase 365, a subsidiary of Sybase Inc (NYSE:SY), a messaging interoperability and mobile content management and distribution company, has selected the Comptel AXIOSS Suite for network inventory and order management of a diverse range of mobile messaging enablement services.

According to the company, Comptel AXIOSS Suite is a service fulfillment platform for broadband and IP-based service providers, enabling services to be designed quickly and delivered cost-efficiently, improving the customer experience, reducing customer support costs and providing control and visibility of the service fulfillment environment. The solution includes modules for order management, service inventory and service activation, which can be delivered as an integrated suite or tailored to fit providers' existing architecture.

The implementation of the Comptel AXIOSS Suite at Sybase 365 will be performed in two phases. The first phase will focus on developing an inventory management system and creating a dynamic control of the company's IP and VPN networks. The second phase will carry out the installation and configuration of the customer and engineering order management systems to maintain firewalls, servers and other customer-oriented applications.

The deal was closed in Q1 2008, prior to the acquisition of Axiom Systems by Comptel. No financial details were disclosed.
